The Artist

I am Margerie Adam, a French artist based in northwest London, loving the time I spend in my studio with my two lovely Bichon dogs.

My two babies, Oscar and Teddy-Barnaby
I started learning ceramics in February 2023 and created The Biscuit Ceramic by M. one month later in March 2023, beginning with my first stamp, crafted in my kitchen, where I spent six months working from home. From there, everything escalated—I opened my studio in July of the same year

Creating scalloped edges, French lace patterns, birds, and various sculptures inspired by organic natural forms, as well as wood carving, has become my personal signature in mix-media ceramics.

My first adventure with ceramics was influenced by my bird, Charly—a symbol of the soul, experience, and creation. Charly embodies the essence of my art: the bird—the freedom of the soul, no golden cage, no barriers, coming and going like ideas, shaping the way I build and imagine. My deepest feelings take form in my art, materializing under my fingers as I smooth, shape, and let my soul guide my hands—embracing freedom and making space for new experiences.

My ceramic work involves a delicate balance between control and letting go, combining coiling, pinching, and freehand building, using my own research and methods.
My work is not part of mass production. Each piece is unique and cannot be recreated with the same exact design.
You will discover three main collections:
- French Lace – A nostalgic journey down memory lane, evoking softness and transparency through delicate whites and the luminous quality of porcelain.
- The Birds – My first adventure with ceramics, inspired by my bird, Charly. This collection reflects the symbolic essence of the soul, experience, and creation.
- Broken Linéa – A collection where 24-carat gold lustre smooths and embellishes deliberately broken, handmade porcelain pieces, embracing imperfection and beauty.

All my ceramic pieces are handcrafted by me alone. Whether you are a collector or simply someone who appreciates handmade objects, I hope my work speaks to you and inspires you.
Lots of love,
Margerie
